Tibetans to Say 'Thank You Himachal Pradesh'



 
On occasion of the 50th anniversary of the arrival of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Dharamsala on 30 April 1960, the Central Tibetan Administration is organising a two-day 'Thank You Himachal' event to express Tibetan people's gratitude to the people and Government of Himachal Pradesh, in Dharamsala on 30 April and 1 May 2010.

Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, will grace the ceremony at Dari Ground, near Dharamsala on 30 April 2010 at 9:00 AM. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will also be present at the occasion.

The special feature of the first day's programme will be a photo exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi's and His Holiness the Dalai Lama's message on 'Peace and Brotherhood' at the prestigious Museum of Kangra Arts in Dharamshala. Shri. Krishan Kapoor, Honourable Minister of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, will inaugurate the exhibition at 3:00 PM.

Shri. Virbhadra Singh, Honourable Union Minister of Steel, will grace the second day of the event to be held at the Main Temple (Tsuglagkhang) in Mcleod Ganj on 1 May 2010 at 9:55 AM. This event will be dedicated to honour some of the local senior citizens associated with the Tibetan community during the last 50 years.

The Tibetan Medical and Astro Institute (Men-Tsee Khang) will organise a free medical camp at Dari ground from 1:00 – 5:00 PM. People who are interested to take Tibetan ayurvedic medicine are welcome.

All the residents of Dharamsala are welcome to grace the occasion.
